CroisiEurope was founded in 1976 by trailblazer Gerard Schmitter as an affordable alternative to what was, at that time, a privilege enjoyed mainly by the wealthy. From constructing their own ships to working in partnership with renowned French chefs, CroisiEurope and their fleet of 50 company-owned ships and five chartered vessels quickly earned a reputation for quality and expertise.
According to CroisiEurope, it is their “family spirit, warm and caring” that makes all the difference for the more than 200,000 passengers they welcome each year. They call their 1,600 employees a big, happy family, passionately committed to helping passengers relax on board their state-of-the-art ships, which carry 16 to 200 passengers in comfort and style, with intimate, elegant interiors and fine, French cuisine.
From their original itineraries along the Rhine and Danube, CroisiEurope now offers sailings throughout Europe, including the Seine and the Rhone, the Tisza in Hungary, the Guadalquivir in Spain, the Douro in Portugal, and the Dordogne and the Garonne in Bordeaux; additionally, they offer intimate cruises on small ships along the Mekong in Vietnam and Lake Kariba in Southern Africa.
